This vest is worked seamlessly from the top down. The vest is worked flat except for the armhole edgings, but a circular needle is recommended to accommodate the large number of stitches when working the body. It begins at the shoulders and the back is worked down to the underarms. Stitches are then picked up at the shoulders and worked top down for the fronts to the underarm. The fronts and back are then joined and worked down to the hem in one piece.

Stitches are picked up and worked in the round for the armhole edgings. Stitches are picked up and knitted for the neck edging and front bands. Use backwards loop method to cast on sts at start or end of rows.

This pattern has been published in Knit Now magazine Issue 198, and will be self-published in early 2027.
