Mother-Daughter Heirloom Afghan
Designed so 2 or more people can create this beautiful, timeless family heirloom. This blanket combines basic stitches into classic chevron and granny squares to form a unique, yet classic combination
Materials
Yarn:
Loops & Threads® Brushed Rainbow™
• 5 skeins White (WC)
• 5 skein Orchid (OC)
Crochet hook size 5.00 mm (H/8) or size 5.50 mm (I/9) (See Hints)
Yarn needle
Scissors
Hints:
Before beginning to crochet, align your gauges with one another.
Each person should crochet a small square swatch of dcs using the designated yarn and hook size. Adjust (using hints below) to align sizes
• Each person’s tension naturally varies, especially with those newer to crocheting. You can adjust your tension by pulling the yarn tighter or looser while crocheting
• Usually you will have the same hook size. However, my daughter used a size 5.50 mm (I/9) and I used a hook size 5.00 mm (H/8) to help our gauges to align.
• Blocking can also help even out inconsistencies in gauge by gently stretching the fabric to the desired size/shape.
