The Mother Moon pullover is a light garment with a LOT of drape. A great confidence booster, with a Triple Moon detail on the neckline that connects you to the attributes of its symbolism.

This is a written pattern, written in US terms, using metric and imperial measurements. It has a photo tutorial and chart for the moons section, photo tutorial for the cuffs, and a schematic for measurements. It’s worked top down in one piece, some parts are worked flat and others in rounds, and requires blocking.

The pattern is written to be worked in one color, but has instructions on how to do fades, changing colors on certain rows at different speeds/widths. It also includes instructions to modify the length of the body and sleeves.

Difficulty: intermediate. Though it mostly uses basic stitches, the Triple Moon detail is made using front and back post stitches as well as decreases. Other than those 12 rows, it’s pretty mindless and easy.

To make this garment you will need fingering weight (14WPI) yarn, a 4mm hook or whichever you need to meet gauge, at least 6 stitch markers, a yarn needle, a measuring tape and scissors.

Approximate yarn amounts needed per size based on bust circumference:
XS - 78cm/31in: 900m/985yd
S - 88cm/35in: 1,180m/1,290yd
M - 98cm/39in: 1,230m/1,345yd
L - 108cm/43in: 1,440m/1,575yd
XL - 118cm/46.5in: 1,580m/1,728yd
2X - 128cm/50.5in: 1,830m/2,001yd
3X - 138cm/54.5in: 2,005m/2,193yd
4X - 148cm/58.5in: 2,230m/2,439yd
5X - 158cm/62.5in: 2,360m/2,580yd

The gauge is 21 sts and 18 rows in 10cm/4in in extended single crochet, however, because you’re going to block it, it’s ok if you’re 1 stitch or 1 row short. If you’re absolutely against blocking, I highly recommend that you buy more yarn than needed, get 22 sts in your gauge and do more rows than the pattern calls for.
