From the pattern description: A dainty handkerchief is the traditional gift for the mother of the bride. She will no doubt be dabbing away a tear or two during the wedding, after all. Traditional Swedish cross-stitch embroidery was my inspiration for this design. In Sweden my grandmother embroidered on top of everything she knit! The pearl-white cotton is quick to knit in stockinette and the wide crocheted lace trim is a sweet contrast. Consider knitting an extra for the mother of the groom for a good start to in-law relations.
