Mothman is an urban legend that originated in West Virginia, claiming that locals had seen a giant, dark coloured creature with wings, some claiming it had no head. (Buzz feed Unsolved does a great video about this legend!)

Well, if you’re a local, or like moths and other insects, maybe you’ll like this mothman pattern! It’s very easy to follow, quick to make, and easy to change the colours to customize into your favourite moth!

I’ve done the classic mothman, a Luna moth, and the rosy maple moth! But it doesn’t end there—you can choose other species of moths, butterflies, or even come up with your own colour scheme to make a unique, and adorable, mothman/mothlady/mothbeing.

This pattern is great for beginners, and allows you to work with fluffy yarn in a way that allows you to practice and get used to it. All items made from this pattern can be sold, but please reference me as the designer and pattern creator so people can find me if they want to make their own!
