This cowl is wide enough to double as a shawl for an added layer of warmth when those frigid winds blow either outside or in air conditioning. This versatile garment is knit in the round from the top down with simple lace additions to provide visual interest both while you are knitting and again when you wear your finished piece. Worked with a worsted weight yarn, the piece is dense enough to be warm and cuddly and knits up much faster than a fingering weight sock yarn.

Two combined sizes are offered that are sized large enough so that the cowl can be pulled over the shoulders like a shawl. The piece will stretch to fit a more ample figure but substantially shortens to do so.

6 to 7 skeins - 100 grams each - of any Worsted weight yarn will be needed depending on the chosen size and the edging. Suggested needles are Size US 8 (5.00mm) or what ever you need to achieve gauge. Smaller needles will provide a more dense fabric but will use more yarn.
