In the western part of Norway, clambering up the mountainsides is the beautiful city Of Bergen. A luxuriant city overlooking the sea and surrounded by seven mountains. This over 900-year-old city is where I call home. It also happens to be the rainiest city in the world! And this beautiful, rainy, Hanseatic city provided me with the inspiration for this pattern; The Mountain Rain Socks.

The Mountain Rain Socks are a romantic lace pattern knit toe-up. The pattern is written for an afterthought heel, but you may substitute it for any heel that you might prefer.
This pattern has four different size options: XS (EU 35-37), S (EU 37-38), M (EU 39-40), L (EU 41-43).
The stitch counts for the sizes are: 50 (54) 66 (74).

The socks are knit in fingering weight sock yarn. The sample socks in the pattern are knit out of “Frostbite” on Stranded Dyeworks Oasis. The pattern works great with contrasting heels, toes, and cuffs.
