Designed to celebrate International Mountain Day on 11th December each year, this square is such a pretty one. The Mountains square is a fun corner to corner design that works up quite quickly and is a great scrap bucket buster.

You can use the graph to create a small wall hanging if you use either the corner to corner technique or use the chart to SC and work it in rows.

This square is 25 x 25 blocks or stitches.

Perfect as an afghan block, a wall hanging or panel for a library tote! There are so many projects that you can use corner to corner squares in!

The Mountain square pattern includes chart, written and colour block instructions.

This pattern was part of the free Kinship CAL in 2022 – you can find out more about it here.

SKILL LEVEL:

This is an easy pattern that is suitable for beginners with an understanding of how the technique works.

If you are new to this technique you may find my Learn to Corner to Corner free course of benefit!

LAYOUT:

My patterns all share the same layout which is easy to read and easy to find important information you need, such as materials needed, sizing information, gauge information, and special stitches used as well as how to do them. These stitches often come with an accompanying video for further clarification.

SIZE:

I worked my square in half double crochet which created a square of approximately 12-14”.
If you use double crochet it will be approximately 16-20” square depending on your tension.

MATERIALS:

yarn in 5 colours
5mm hook
Stitch markers (optional)
Scissors
Tapestry needle
