The mountainscape on these colorwork socks will connect you with nature. The Mountain’s Call Socks were designed with rustic cabin vibes in mind, whether you are hunkering down by the fire in the middle of winter, sitting outside at a summer bonfire, or waking up at the crack of dawn to make yourself a cup of something warm. The colorwork band at the top is written in 10, 12, 14, and 16 stitch repeats to allow for endless possibilities of modification. Sized from baby up through adult extra large, the Mountain’s Call Socks were designed so that everyone can have a variation of this sock! Most of the colorwork is done holding two colors, though a few rounds include three colors. You will also need to catch your floats, but don’t worry if this is your first colorwork project- there are beginner-friendly chart modifications that eliminate the need for three-stranded colorwork! More visually accessible charts, with symbols to represent each color, are also included for both the regular and basic charts. The rest of the sock is ribbed for a cozy feel and features a heel flap and gusset, with a modified square toe.

SIZES
Sizes are based on foot circumference measurement. If in between sizes, size down so that the sock fits snug.
Baby 4”
Toddler 5”
Child 6”
Adult small 7”
Adult medium 8”
Adult large 9”
Adult extra-large 10”
Due to the variety of colorwork charts, you can easily customize a size not listed in the pattern. For example, you can complete a 60 stitch count sock by repeating the 10 round colorwork repeat six times.

YARN/YARDAGE
Since the sock can easily be lengthened in the leg as desired, my yardage estimates are generous. For all sizes, you only use up to 20 yards of each contrast color per pair (perfect for stash-busting!). For the main color, you will need 50 grams for a child pair and 100 grams for an adult pair, depending on the size and if you add extra rounds in the leg.

GAUGE
Gauge is in stockinette stitch in the round, using the smaller needle. The larger needle is to keep your colorwork loose.

CHARTS
This pattern contains regular charts for repeats of 10, 12, 14, and 16 stitches for the colorwork on the leg. There are also simplified colorwork charts for all four stitch count repeats that only use two-stranded colorwork, making them more suitable for beginners. Additionally, there are regular and basic colorwork charts for all four stitch count repeats that use symbols to make them more visually accessible and easier to print in black and white.
