I made this mouse (or other rodent) hammock for my African Striped Mice. The chew through store bought hammocks over the space of a month or two and given that I have four cages with at least one hammock each it’s just getting too expensive.
So I’m using a cotton yarn (any dk or heavier cotton yarn will do, I don’t know which one I used as it’s a hand-me-down without a band) so if it gets ingested it’s not too bad.
Not too sure if this actually lasts longer or shorter than a commercial hammock. It has been in the cage for about 3 minutes and it’s already being chewed on, but we’ll see :)
