This is a knitting pattern of an elephant named Mr. Ruesselo. It includes a material list, abbreviations, row by row instructions, and photos.

Knitted in the round using the magic loop method. Legs and trunk are attached as you knit, and stitches for the ears are picked up and knitted flat. NO SEWING IS REQUIRED.

SKILL LEVEL: Advanced beginner.

USED TECHNIQUES

  • Pinhole cast-on
  • Turkish cast-on
  • Backwards loop cast-on
  • Knitting flat and in the round
  • Slipping and purling stitches
  • Increases (make one left, make one right)
  • Decreases (knit two together, slip slip knit)
  • Picking up stitches
  • Three-needle bind-off
  • Binding off

MATERIALS REQUIRED

  • Sport yarn (45-50g).
  • 2 mm circular knitting needles
  • 2 mm two double-pointed needles
  • 3 mm crochet hook
  • Darning needle
  • Stuffing
  • Stitch markers
  • Scrap yarn to keep stitches on hold
  • Scrap yarn in black for embroidery

Yarn used for the yellow one: Drops Loves You 7 #28 (15g); Drops Safran #66 (30g)

Approximately 23cm x 16cm.
