A textured scarf for the you to wear when you need something warm. A wonderful shawl or neck scarf. A really nice head scarf for those breezy fall days. Make one for the daughter you are sending off to college.

This is Ms Dame - the dame’s version of the scarf. You can make it any size you want depending on the weight of your yarn and the size of your hook. It is suggested that you use a large hook to keep the scarf flexible and soft. This will increase the size of your scarf. The lighter the weight of your yarn then the smaller your scarf (or shawl) will be.

Yarn Estimates
Lace weight: 420 yards
Fingering weight: 830 yards
DK weight: 960 yards
Worsted weight: 750-1400 yards

Use the largest size hook that you are comfortable with considering the yarn that you are working with.

Please note that if you use worsted weight yarn that this is going to be a really large scarf - blanket sized. Perfect for sitting in front of a campfire in the mountains on a breezy summer night.

I estimate that 20% of your yarn will be used in the border.

The pattern has a Random Information Section at the end where extra pictures have been placed. Please be aware of this if you are ink conscious when printing.

The special stitches in this pattern are: a Back Loop Only sc, a Front Loop Long dc and a Front Post dc. Instructions are given for each stitch.
