The Mullion hat pattern draws inspiration from the chilly winter strolls along the rugged Cornish coast. The colours incorporated in the pattern are reminiscent of the rising and setting sun over the Celtic Sea.

The beanie hat starts with a double 2x2 rib brim and then transitions into a simple lattice pattern that runs around the hat. Finally, it is completed with a plain stocking stitch to highlight the colour pattern before decreasing along the crown. The hat looks great with or without a pompom.

Materials:

1 pair x 3.75mm Needles 16in 40cm circular or double pointed
1 pair x 4.50mm Needles 16in 40cm circular or double pointed

When knitting the large size, I did find that a 60cm circular needle was easier to use.

NB: If using the two circular needle method, you will need another set of needles the same size.

• Darning Needle
• Stitch Marker to mark beginning of the round.
