This hat is worked in a continuous spiral, so there’s no easy way to tell the end of each round. I’ve created a photo tutorial to make it easier, but it will still take some organization to keep your yarn from tangling.

I highly recommend using stitch markers to keep each color from getting pulled out while you work on the next colors. If you’re not using markers, just widen your working loops by a few inches when not in use.

I also recommend using some kind of system to keep your yarn organized. Any basket with at least 4 smooth-edged holes will work well for this, and you can use labels to remember your colors’ letters as represented in the pattern.
