Multicolored Checkerboard Blanket
The Charts will need to be printed on Legal Paper (8.5” by 14”) for the best result.
This pattern can be knitted with any size yarn to adjust the size. I used worsted weight, homespun yarn and a size 7 needle, and got the a gauge of 8 sts/inch and 8 rows/inch. The pattern is intended to be forgiving of irregularities in the yarn. My finished blanket is roughly 34” wide and 44” long, and I used roughly 1000 yards of each of four colors.
This pattern requires a fabric lining and Grosgrain ribbon in addition to the usual tapestry needle and markers.
This pattern consists of two parts: the written pattern and the chart. This is my first pattern, so keep in mind that there may be mistakes. Please contact me if you find one, and if in doubt, follow the chart.
