This gorgeously sweet baby/toddler set consists of a cardigan-pattern as well as a pattern for a bonnet (or hat, if you prefer).

Design Classic lines for both the cardigan and the bonnet, to ensure the best possible fit for your baby/toddler.
The Multiflora pattern embelishes the body and bottom of sleeves of the cardigan, the main body (between brim and crown) of the bonnet.

Construction The cardigan is seamlessly worked bottom-up. Lower body is worked side-to-side, sleeves are worked in-the-round. At underarms body and sleeves are joined and work is continued in one piece. The upper body is shaped by raglan-decreases, Sts are picked up for neckline and button-bands.
The bonnet: is worked from the brim to the crown.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a sport weight yarn with great stitch-definition. I used the sport weight ”Pashmina” from madelinetosh to work the cardigan and the bonnet. This yarn comes in skeins of 329meters/360yards. You will need 1/1/1/2/2/2/2/2 skeins to work the set. Needles: Choose needle size to obtain gauge. I used needle size 3.5mm/US4, this is a suggestion only. For the lower body you might use a circular or straight needles. For the upper body I recommend a circular needle. For the sleeves you might use a set of dpns or a circular needle (if working the magic loop). For the neckline and button-bands you can use a circular or straight needles. For the bonnet you use a small circular needles and a set of dpns. Notions: 4 removable stitch-markers, separate holders, buttons 13-15mm/0.5-0.6” across.

The pattern
The multiflora pattern is written out, row-by-row (round-by-round for the sleeves). Please observe that the pattern is not charted.
All measurements are in cm’s as well as in inches.
There is a schematic. All necessary stitch-counts are given.

Knitting skills: the pattern would suit any knitter with average skillls.
Skills used: casting on, bind-off, picking up of sts, following instructions row-by-row for the multiflora pattern (SO easy and fun to make:)), increases, decreases. If you want to make up the underarm gaps by grafting your cardigan will be completely seamless, otherwise you can seam the gap.
