Murmuration Neckerchief
The Murmuration Neckerchief is a lightweight neckerchief, featuring whimsical birds flying the length. Worked in two halves and joined at the centre back, the colourwork birds are reflected and visible when the neckerchief is tied.
The edge of the neckerchief features a slipped stitch on the purl side, which helps to prevent the edges from rolling. Increases are worked as pairs: right leaning and left leaning. There is a purl stitch between the outer edge and the increase, meaning any tension issues with increases are hidden within the ‘ditch’.
The three sizes included in this pattern are:
Cute: a classic neckerchief size, wrapped once around the neck and tied at the front
Cool: a mid-length version, with the option to tie with the ends hanging to armpit level, or wrap twice around the neck to tie closely
Cosy: perfect for cooler days and evenings, this long version wraps around the neck three times to tie.
Knit with a strand of 4ply and lace weight, in DK weight or even in worsted, and you’ll have a neckerchief to carry you through the season s.
The pattern features an in depth video tutorial, available exclusively via the pattern, guiding you through every step of the knitting process.
