This Mushroom Coaster Set crochet pattern lets you make 8 functional coasters that transform into a dimensional crochet mushroom when they’re not being used.

Take a coaster from the mushroom when you need one, unfold it and use it with your drink. When you’re finished, the coasters fold back up and hang around the crocheted stem to rebuild the mushroom cap.

Construction

The pattern creates eight separate crochet coasters that fold and hang around the crocheted stem/base.

The stem includes an integrated holder for the coasters. As the folded coasters are added around it, they form the mushroom cap.

When all 8 are in place, the complete coaster set becomes a dimensional red-and-white fly agaric style mushroom.
