Mushroom sweater junior
ENGLISH, FRENCH, GERMAN, UKRAINIAN VERSION COMING SOON
Please note: This pattern is currently available in Russian only. The English version will be added very soon. Thank you for your interest — I hope you’ll enjoy this cozy and whimsical children’s sweater!
ABOUT PATTERN
The Mushroom Sweater is a children’s sweater with a circular colorwork yoke.
The design is inspired by autumn and the deep mossy forests of Northern Norway.
At this time of year, bright red toadstools (Amanita muscaria) begin to peek out from the fallen leaves like tiny forest lanterns — and they have become the heart of this warm, cozy, and slightly magical knit.
CONSTRUCTION
The Mushroom Sweater is worked from the top down with a circular yoke.
The neck is worked first, followed by the charted yoke design using 4 different colors.
Increases are made using the M1L (Make 1 Left) method.
After the colorwork section is complete, short rows are worked to shape the back and ensure a comfortable fit.
The body and sleeves are then separated and worked in the round. Additional stitches are cast on for the underarms.
As the sweater is worked top-down, you can easily adjust the length of the body and sleeves as needed.
