The Muskmelon Beanie features a double-layered structure. We begin by casting on and working the outer honeycomb layer in the round. Once this reaches the desired length, we switch to a smaller needle and a new yarn to knit the inner layer. The inner layer is worked without any increases or decreases until it reaches the crown, where shaping is created through gradual decreases. After closing the top of the inner layer, the crown of the outer honeycomb layer is gathered and secured.
If leave the outer layer open, and do not knit the decrease part, the beanie can also be modified as a neck.
