Pattern Description

My children love this very tactile horse. He flops lazily over their ams and they swish his tail. Make him together with the blanket and saddle for that extra role play-ability.

Yarn Requirements

  • Horse--4 50 g balls of Rowan Summer Tweed in light grey
  • Muzzle and hooves--1 50 g ball of Rowan Summer tweed in dark grey
  • Mane and tail--1 25 g ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze in mid grey
  • Stirrups--Scraps of Rowan Lurex Shimmer in silver
  • Blanket--1 50 g ball of Rowan Cashsoft DK in mid blue

Additional Materials

  • 2 skeins of Anchor wool tapestry yarn in terracotta
  • 18 skeins of Anchor wool tapestry yarn for square motifs (choose at least 10 different colors)
  • Scraps of felt in cream, black, brown, and black
  • 8 in x 4 in piece of tan felt for saddle
  • Stranded cotton embroidery thread in black, grey and brown
  • Water soluble fabric marker pen
  • Sewing thread to match saddle felt
  • Polyester toy stuffing
  • US 5/F (4mm) crochet hook
