Inspired by many other temperature blankets over recent years, I decided to make one myself and show you how I did it.

The whole blanket is garter stitch. I did two rows of garter stitch for the daytime temperature and another two rows for the night-time temperature. The temperatures I used were average daytime / night-time temperatures from www.accuweather.com. You can put in your own postcode and get the temperatures for your area. You could of course start (and finish) one of these whenever you want, you don’t have to wait until January 1st like I did. I stopped at 6 months because, well, who needs a blanket that’s 16 feet long…?

You will probably need around 20 different colours. I only needed to use 17 of mine but the temperature range may be completely different in your part of the world.
