My Essentials Bag is a spacious shoulder bag knit in slip stitches and stockinette stitches. The slip stitch pattern gives the bag its characteristic look and makes the bottom and strap sturdy.

Introduction to the pattern
The bag is knit bottom up. First, the bottom is knit in a slip stitch pattern. Then, stitches are picked up along the edge and the body is knit in the round in stockinette stitch. Finally, a few rounds of slip stitches are knit again, before casting off and knitting the strap. You are able to adjust the height of the bag and the length of the strap to your liking.
