My Everyday Tote
A DANISH and ENGLISH pattern
My Everyday Tote is a simple and slouchy tote knit in American moss stitch. The tote is knit bottom up, which makes it easy to adjust the length to your liking. My Everyday Tote is ideal as a beach bag or such, where you don’t have to carry some-thing too heavy.
Introduction to the pattern
My Everyday Tote is knit bottom up in one piece. After knitting the bottom, stitches are picked up along the edges to form the sides. Finally, the sides are cast off and the straps are knit and joint using a three needle cast off.
Information about the tote
You can knit the tote with two different gauges, which gives the tote two different measurements.
a) 18 stitches x 26 rows in American moss stitch on 4.5 US 7 needles = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches, washed.
b)16 stitches x 26 rows in American moss stitch on 4.5 US 7 needles = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches, washed.
Measurements
Measurements for gauge a:
Height: 35 cm 13.5 inches.
Width: 35 cm 13.5 inches.
Strap length: 60 cm 23.5 inches
Strap width: 4 cm 1.5 inches.
Measurements for gauge b:
Height: 35 cm 13.5 inches.
Width: 40 cm 15.5 inches.
Strap length: 60 cm 23.5 inches

Since this is a slouchy tote, it will grow a bit in use and expand when used. I don’t recommend carrying something too heavy in the tote.
