The finished product is so lovely that even if you’re making it for someone else, you’ll want to keep it all to yourself. That’s why I call it, “My Fair Isle Hat”!

This is a great pattern if you’re new to stranded knitting (changing color during a row and carrying the other color behind on the inside). There are no more than three stitches between any color change so you’re not carrying the yarn very far. This means there’s no worrying about pulling it too tight or having big loops on the inside of the hat.

Materials You’ll Need:
Size 7 needles (circular + 4 DPNs)
180 yards of worsetted weight wool in the main color
Up to three additional colors of about ping pong size balls

Size:
Written for women’s small or medium, finished project stretches from 20 in to 24 in circumference.

This pattern is very detailed and organized, with charts for all the colorwork. I want you to spend your time knitting an amazing hat, not trying to figure out a pattern!
