My Little Story Cowl and Beanie kit is made for 2 skeins of bright and funny speckled DK weight yarn – and a lot of joy in knitting for a kid.

The kit is designed to be worn together but not to be too matchy-matchy.

The hat is designed for speckled yarn that might surprisingly look the best on the wrong side. That’s why the hat is knit with reverse stockinette stitch – or actually worn on the wrong side and knit normally. Of course you can choose the side you want to show: see how it looks best with your yarn choice.

The cowl is knit with 1-color brioche (but you can make it 2-color brioche easily) and finished with a popping I-cord edge from the hat yarn. There will be enough yarn left over to make a pom pom for your hat or knit mittens with the left overs.

One size that will suit most ages.
