Hi I decided I wanted a spider plant. But I didn’t just want a spider plant I wanted one that hung like I used to see when I was a girl. I found a few patterns but decided sod it I’ll give it a go myself. I’m quite pleased with results so will give a go at sharing pattern. Please bear with me it’s my first go at trying to write a pattern for others to follow so forgive any mistakes. I would love to see if anyone does give it a try.

I used 100g 4 ply wool size 4mm hook. Made for a five inch pot although picture has a 3 inch pot with a 5 1/2 inch saucer.

•Magic circle.
•Dc 6 times into circle ss to 1st dc (6dc).
•Ch1 dc in 1st dc, 2dc in each dc around ss (12dc).
•Ch3 2trcl into 1st dc, ch 5,* 3trcl into next dc, ch 5 * repeat ** around ss into first ch 5 (12trcl).
•ch5 1dc in previous ch 5* repeat ** around ss to sit ch5 (12 ch5 loops).
•ch6 1dc in previous ch5* repeat ** around, ss to 1st ch6 (12 ch6 loops)
•ch7 1dc in previous ch6* repeat ** around, ss 3 times in 1st ch 7 to bring yarn up.
•Repeat step 7 five more times or until required height.
•Ch1 3dc in ch7, 1 dc in dc repeat ** around (48dc). 10-12. Ch2 htr in each dc ss (48htr).
•Ch2 htr in each of next two stitches. (3htr).
•Ch3 turn work. 1tr in each of next two stitches (3tr) ch3 turn.
1tr in each of next two ch3 * repeat ** 44 more times (46 rows of trebles in total or your required length)
•Ch2, htr in each of next two stitches (3htr).
•Make sure length of trebles not twisted and ss join to three stitches opposite (19 stitches away from either side of length) fasten off.
Rejoin at 10th stitch away. Ch1, htr in each of next three stitches. •Repeat 14-16. Again ensure not twisted and join at 10th stitch away from other lengthy.
•Using 10 lengths of yarn, make tassel. I threaded two at a time on yarn needle and passed over magic circle into dc gaps either side. Even lengths out, knot then trim.
•For the hanger lengths I decorated with faux knot. Thread a long piece of yarn, knot at bottom of hanger length leaving 5cm yarn hanging, wrap yarn around using needle until desired thickness. Secure end with the 5cm yarn from beginning and thread both ends into knot to hide ends.
•Use a key ring to join both lengths and to hang.

Hope it all makes sense, please message with any questions.
