That whiney Moaning Myrtle is at it again! As you know, she is the “lovable” ghost that resides in the bathroom at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. She MUST have a pair of socks for each mood, and these are her paranoid pair. There are two patterns within this pattern, so if you choose, you can make two separate matching pairs of socks, or make mismatched socks as Myrtle would wear when she is in her paranoid state! BEWARE if you are a magic loop or DPN sock knitter. There are yarn overs and p2tog that march around the needles so stitches may need to be moved from one needle to another. This is my typical 9 inch circular sock pattern that is easily memorized and is a good “next sock” for a beginner to knit if they have mastered the vanilla sock. It is written for top down construction, uses the Eye of Partridge heel and Dutch heel turn and gusset, closing the toe with the Kitchener stitch. Grab some crazy bright yarn and get going with a paranoid pair for yourself!
