The Mysterious Mystical Unicorn hat is a hat that combines the best of technology with fiber crafting. The idea came to light when our family purchased a 3D printer and my daughter just had to print out a unicorn horn! From there it took off into the idea of a hat that could be worn multiple ways, as well as be washed, since children aren’t always the neatest little beings. If you don’t own a 3D printer yourself, don’t worry, as the horn is available to be printed. If you’re not into the idea of a plastic unicorn horn, fear not, for this pattern will be updated with a knitted version, as well as several options for interchangeable parts!

The main portion of the hat is worked all in one piece. The band is knit first, seamed, and then you will work on the body of the hat. The inserts are worked separately by sectioning different colors of the yarn into smaller balls and selectively choosing colors for each piece.
I hope you enjoy making this hat as much as I did!

I will be updating this pattern with additional inserts as I design and knit them.

Keep an eye out for the matching scarf and fingerless mitts, to be released very soon!
