The Mystery Friendship Crochet Wrap pattern is an easy pattern to follow.

This pattern is constructed using a crochet technique known as filet crochet. This is an easy technique with quite remarkable results. Filet crochet patterns are grid-like crochet which can accommodate various designs (from text, flowers, geometrical shapes).

The main stitches used in the filet crochet are chain, single crochet (double crochet in UK terms) and double crochet (treble in UK terms). The double crochet stitches are used to create the solid cells of the grid and the empty cells are made with the chain stitches.

The Mystery Friendship Crochet Wrap pattern design was inspired in the Portuguese pavements. The actual pattern has been adapted to suit a crochet project and for which I have developed in a repetition of squares with a centre small square as focal point. The wrap pattern is mainly a repetition of seven main squares horizontally and twenty-one main squares vertically. The main squares are separated with one small square at the vertices of each main square.

To make this wrap as shown in pattern document, it was used 250 grams of Hayfield Spirit DK (shade 407), crochet hook 4.5mm/US7, stitch markers and tapestry needle.

The wrap will be approximately 55 cm wide and 140 cm long (without tassels).
