Our 2018 Mystery Sock KAL has come and gone, but you can still have fun knitting the pattern!

Description: “X,” the Roman numeral for ten, is a perfect theme for our Tenth Mystery Sock KAL! Criss-crossing stitch patterns are some of the most fun to do, and can be found in cables, lacework, and other special stitches. This top-down design incorporates lots of Xs that are fun to knit, and pretty to wear!

This Mystery KAL was presented in a series of Seven Weekly Clues that kept knitters entertained and maybe even taught a new trick or two! The pattern contains instructions in text and charts, and, as always, there will be video support to help you with techniques that might be new to you. The pattern is written for three sizes:

  • Narrow Width: 6.0 - 7.5 inch circumference at ball of foot
  • Medium Width: 7.5 - 9.5 inch circumference at ball of foot
  • Wide Width: 9.5 - 11 inch circumference at ball of foot
  • And foot length is determined by the knitter.

Yarn Recommendations:

Sock-aholic® II is dyed by hand at our brewery using a super soft and smooth 4-ply Luxury Sock Yarn made from 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon. Each skein contains approximately 470 yards, and knits at a gauge of 7-9 stitches per inch using size 1-2 needles. This yarn maintains beautiful stitch definition when used for pattern stitches, is strong enough to support lace work, and its softness makes it a pleasure to handle and wear.
