Mythical bird pattern with flexible claws - the finished bird can sit on your finger (given the wire you use is strong enough).

It makes a great gift or decoration for your room.

The finished product has a wingspan of about a foot when made with a 4mm hook and worsted weight yarn. From the top of the eye to the end of its tail it is around a foot.

The pattern allows for a lot of customization with color choices. While the pattern does not include instructions for color changes (besides for the eye), color changes can be added to make the bird resemble specific species.

The pattern PDF contains 19 pages with over 15 pictures to clarify instructions as well as finished photos.

Materials needed:
-Yarn (amount of colors up to you: I would suggest at least 3. Yarn is needed for the eyes, talons, and the body and wings)
-Wire (I used about 24” total inches of 18 gauge wire, for the wings and for the eye. For the talons I used 24 gauge wire. The same wire can be used for both the talons and the rest of the body, but you may need to double up the wire for the wings and eye to support them correctly.)
-Tapestry needle
-Crochet hook
-Polyfill
-Clear glue
-Scissors
-Wire cutters
