Nadora (n) Greek: A beautiful gift powered by passion

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Those of us that crochet and knit have been given a beautiful gift! These fiber arts, being very low-tech, help us quiet our minds and give us a sense of peace as we work on a project that we can wear, share, and treasure.
Nadora is a simple rectangular-shaped shawl that is crocheted from end to end. The lacy stitch pattern is an easy-to-memorize two-row repeat using common crochet stitches. If you can chain, single crochet and double crochet, you can crochet this simple lace stitch pattern that includes a lover’s knot stitch. A full tutorial for the lover’s knot stitch is included in the pattern.
For my shawl I used three skeins of Knit Picks Palette fingering weight yarn (Peruvian Highland Wool, 231 yards/50 grams) in the color Celadon Heather. Be sure to look at this great yarn and the extensive palette of colors. I recommend using a natural yarn of wool, wool/cotton, cotton or cotton/linen that is easily wet blocked to open up the stitches and to add width and length. The combination of the bouncy soft Palette yarn and the stitches makes a very stretchy fabric. Wet blocking provides the final length and width of the shawl.
So, find your favorite color of yarn and enjoy your beautiful gift of crochet, and create a Nadora shawl for yourself or a loved one!
