The Nami Square Mitts was inspired by a sweet and special friend. She taught me to knit but what mad her special is that she taught me to love unconditionally. Her grandchildren called her “Nami” and this design is created in memory of her.

These mitts are created by making a Nami (Granny) Square starting with the thumb at the center of the square. The final touches include the slanted shell edging around the thumb, top and bottom of the mitts. The mitts fit medium size adult hands.

The yarn that I used was a superwash merino and nylon blend from a local indie dyer - Gnome River Yarns. This would be a great pattern to use up some of those wonderful scraps left over from other projects.
