This pattern is for a set of 4 Christmas hanging decorations, with a set of 4 matching napkin rings.

The pattern is written in American crochet terms and contain lots of photos to help you every step of the way. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.

You will need:
DK (weight 3, light worsted) weight yarn of your choice. I used King Cole Cherished DK in the following shades & quantities…

For the napkin ring (page 4), you will need the following colours:

  • Main colour - I used white (approx. 8.5m per napkin ring).

For the bauble ring (page 5), you will need the following colours:

  • Sky colour - I used dark blue, shade ‘French Navy’ (approx. 10m per bauble ring).
  • Snow colour - I used white (approx. 4m per bauble ring).

For the Christmas tree (page 6), you will need the following colours:

  • Tree colour - I used green, shade ‘fern’ (approx. 10.5m per tree).

For the penguin (pages 7-8), you will need the following colours:

  • Main head & body colour - I used black (approx. 6.5m per penguin).
  • Face & tummy colour - I used white (approx. 2m per penguin).
  • Feet & Beak colour - I used gold, shade ’mustard’ (approx. 1.5m per penguin).

For the candle (pages 9-10), you will need the following colours:

  • Main candle colour - I used white (approx. 5.5m per candle).
  • Flame colour - I used gold, shade ’mustard’ (approx. 1.5m per candle).
  • Candle-holder colour - I used red (approx. 3.5m per candle).

For the snowman (pages 11-12), you will need the following colours:

  • Hat & Scarf colour - I used green, shade ‘Fern’ (approx. 5m per snowman).
  • Nose colour - I used gold, shade ‘mustard’ (approx. 0.75m per snowman).
  • Head & body colour - I used white (approx. 8m per snowman).

Please Note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.

You will also need:

  • A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
  • A pair of 6mm black safety eyes for each penguin.
  • A small amount of toy stuffing.
  • A small amount of string or yarn for making the bauble hanging loops.
  • Small beads, sequins or craft bells for decorating the Christmas tree. I used a star shaped sequin on top of the tree and 10 x (5mm) craft bells per tree to decorate the branches.
  • Some finer black yarn or thread for adding the candle wick & the details to the snowman.
  • ‘7 count’ plastic canvas. I had a 26cm x 33cm sheet (that’s 10.25 x 13.5 inches) & I used less than half a sheet to make a set of 4 baubles and 4 napkin rings.
  • Other tools you will need are a needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.
