Inspired by the boats that dot the coastline of Rhode Island, this towel set makes a thoughtful gift for a hostess, a housewarming, a new bride or even a bride-to-be. One towel features a motif of signal flags, used by ships to spell out messages and to celebrate special occasions. The other towel features a lace motif that resembles the sailboats traversing Narragansett Bay in the summer and was inspired by the “Arrowheads” stitch pattern in Sterling’s Big Book of Knitting Stitch Patterns. The sailboat towel pattern includes both written and charted instructions. Best of all, the combination of cotton and acrylic in the suggested yarn gives the towels softness and drape while making them durable and machine washable and dryable!
