✨ The unicorn of the sea, now in poncho form

This magical narwhal poncho kicked off my series of kids ponchos, perfect for all the kiddos in your life.

It’s a fun design for them and simple construction for you. The pattern also includes a matching buddy for your little one to cuddle.

✨ What makes it work

• Simple construction. An easy poncho with a button closure.
• A buddy included. Make a matching stuffed friend too.
• Five sizes. Newborn through child.
• Collect the series. Also in the series: Cactus, Pineapple, Panda.

✂️ What you’ll need

• Yarn: Worsted weight yarn.
• Yardage: Approx. 275 (375, 505, 550, 610) yds for the poncho, plus approx. 75 yds for the buddy
• Love a swap? Worsted 8, Herrschners · Soft & Shiny, Loops & Threads · Simply Aran, Paintbox Yarns · Soft Baby Steps, Red Heart, or Super Saver, Red Heart · Acrylic Worsted, Sprightly Yarns
• Hooks: J (6.0mm) · G (4.0mm)
• Tools: Yarn Needle · Removable Stitch Marker · Fiberfill
• To finish like the sample: 2 black Safety Eyes (0.35 in, 9mm) · 4 (5, 6, 6, 7) Buttons, 1 in

• Newborn (Baby, Toddler, Preschool, Child)

⭐ Good to know

• Gauge: 12 sts and 7 rows, see the pattern for details · gauge help
• Safety: For younger ages, safety eyes can be a choking risk. Sew on eyes with black yarn instead.
• Terms: US crochet
