Natsu means “born in summer”. I couldn’t think of a more fitting name for my very first crochet pattern which was born in Summer 2023! Perfectly squishable, low sew, and beginner-friendly, Natsu is sure to bring a smile to your face and works up very quickly! I cannot wait to see all the colors you use to create this super cute, cuddly ninja.

This pattern is beginner-friendly but enjoyable for all crochet levels! Gauge is not important for this pattern. This pattern uses these techniques:

-Magic Circle
-Single Crochet
-Increasing
-Decreasing
-Crocheting in the back loops only
-Jogless color change
-Slip Knot and Chain stitch
-Fastening Off
-Attaching Parts

Supplies needed to make Natsu:

-Super bulky weight yarn (6) in a main color (~105g) and contrast color (~15g)
-Worsted weight yarn (4) for eye embroidery
-Size 7mm crochet hook
-Poly-fil or stuffing of your choice
-Tapestry needle
-Stitch marker
-Scissors
-12mm safety eyes (optional)

I used chunky, squishy blanket yarn, but Natsu can be created using any yarn you have handy! The yarns used in the main image were Bernat Blanket in Deep Sea for the main color and Bernat Blanket Sand for the contrast color.
