This summery top has a simple front and a stunning lacy back. The top is slightly cropped and feels nice and airy because it’s made with Durable Coral. All in all, it’s the perfect summer top. Since the summer was the main inspiration for this top, it’s called ‘Natsu’ – the Japanese word for summer.

About this top:

  • Always knit a gauge swatch before knitting a garment to check if your gauge matches the gauge of the designer. You should always check your gauge to ensure your garment will have the right size;
  • Pattern structure: This top is worked flat from the bottom up. You will start knitting the front and split for both shoulder panels when you have reached the desired length. The shoulder panels are worked separately. After this you will work the back and attach the front and back to each other by closing the side seams;
  • This top includes instructions for multiple sizes, which are indicated as follows: Size 1 (2, 3, 4, 5). Finished bust measurements are 88 (96, 104, 112, 120) cm or 34½ (37¾; 41; 44; 47¼) inches.
  • When only one instruction is given, it applies to all sizes. You might want to highlight the instructions for your size. This will make it easier to follow the pattern while working on your Natsu top. When nothing has to be done for a certain size, this is usually indicated by ‘-’;
  • Adjusting the length of your top: You can easily adjust the length of the top to your preference by working more or less rows before starting the armhole. Keep in mind that this will affect the required yardage.
  • Yarn needed: Durable Coral, 100% mercerized cotton, 50g/125m/137yd Color A: 342 Atlantis, 2 (2, 3, 3, 3) balls Color B: 326 Ivory, 2 (2, 2, 2, 2) balls
