When the Spanish Galleon, Santo Cristo de Burgos, wrecked off the Oregon Coast in 1693 it spawned a tale of treasure that persists to this day. Beeswax and pottery shards regularly wash up on the Nehalem Spit, and legends of a gold stash buried near Neahkanie have persisted ever since. Inspired by the narrow jut of land and the Purly Shell Pirates, this vertically designed cardigan is a great way to mix yarns or use those mini skein sets. Meant to be worn as an open front cardigan, you could pin or button the front closed. This piece has a more open fabric thanks to the larger needle size, but still has some squish factor from the garter ridges.
