The Nebula cardigan is knitted from the top down starting with the back piece, then knitting the two front pieces directly to it. The front and back pieces are joined together with new stitches at the underarm before continuing to knit the rest of the body and ending with a 1x1 ribbed hem. Stitches are picked up around the created armhole and the sleeve is worked top down before decreasing into a 1x1 rib cuff. The graduated colour is achieved by knitting with 3 strands of yarn and varying the number of strands of each shade at various intervals throughout the knitting.
