This is a simple stocking stitch neckerchief which utilises a garter tab start, basic increases and an i-cord bind off. Suitable for an adventurous beginner.

This can of course be worked in a much thicker yarn, but in order to get the nice drape, you must use a needle that is much larger than the one you would normally choose for your yarn.

As it is worked from the top down, any size alterations you wish to make are easy to achieve… basically, stop when its big enough! The increases are designed to create a kerchief that is wider than it is deep, allowing you to wrap this round your neck without a heap of fabric in front.
