This knitted Christmas tree stands about 36 cm / 14” tall and has adjustable branches. Lay them flat for storage and open them out when it’s time to decorate the tree.

The trunk of the tree is a wooden knitting needle and it sits in a metal bucket filled with clay. The branches are knitted strips, stiffened with plastic canvas; these are simple to knit and don’t take very long. The tree is lovely as it is or you could decorate it with mini baubles.

Alternatively … there are 24 separate patterns for tiny knitted decorations, between 1 and 2” tall, published daily in December 2015. The decorations can be knitted in just two colours - I used red and cream - or in lots of bright colours. There is also a separate pattern for a knitted bag to hold all those little decorations.

All my ravelry patterns are free to download but, if you enjoy them, please consider making a donation to the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation, a charity which funds research and supports the families of children with a liver disease. You can do this easily by going to my fundraising page www.justgiving.com/frankiesknittedstuff

Happy Knitting!
