The Nefertem shawl pattern is now available for purchase here on Ravelry.

Named for the Egyptian god of beauty and healing, Nefertem is worked from the center top edge and increased outward to create the semi-circular shape. The border is adorned with lace that features a lotus motif and a delicate scalloped edge. The lotus flower is common in ancient Egyptian art. The god Nefertem is usually depicted wearing a lotus headdress.

This pattern contains both charted and written instructions for the border, “Lotus”, stitch pattern.

Errata (on older versions of the pattern only. The errata has been corrected on v 2.0.):

There is a typo in the instructions for the bind off on the pattern, it should read:
Bind Off: Insert the crochet hook into the first st on the needle purl-wise, *(chain 4 sts, insert the hook into the next three sts on the needle purl-wise, yarn over, pull the hook through the three sts - 2 sts on the crochet hook, yarn over, pull the hook through the two sts - 1 st on needle) repeat from * 76 times.

Errata on the instructions for the set up row for the lace border. Should read:
Row 2: k2, slip marker, p1, (place marker, p16) 11 times, slip marker, k2
