The Nell Sweater is a comfy, relaxed pullover with an oversized silhouette, combining the fit of your favorite sweatshirt with the delicious squish of brioche stitch. It’s the perfect extra layer when the weather gets cold, or just to wear on a lazy day around the house. With fun and interesting construction techniques, it is sure to be a satisfying piece to both make and wear. Enjoy!

Construction
The Nell Sweater uses top-down raglan construction, beginning with a flat yoke that is then joined to work in the round at the front of the neck. After separating the sleeves, the ribbed neckband is worked, followed by the body and sleeves, ending with a ribbed hem and cuffs.

This is an intermediate pattern for a brioche beginner, but will still keep an experienced brioche knitter on their toes!

Yarn
I designed this sweater with two strands of the same DK weight yarn held together, but you can use any combination of fibers/needle size that gets you to gauge! For example: a single strand of bulky or aran, a pairing of worsted and mohair, sock/fingering held triple, two colors of DK held together, the possibilities are endless!

Sample made with Mary Maxim Ultra Mellowspun DK, held double, in Russet (this color is unfortunately discontinued). 70% acrylic/30% nylon. 49g/174yds.
