A top down construction and modern take on a traditional Icelandic lopapeysa. Inspired by the vibrant and fun handdyed colours by Slettuskjótt.
This is the mini version of my „Villanelle“ sweater (available in sizes S – XXL): https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/villanelle-2

Plötulopi held double and knitted with 6,5 mm will give you a very lightweight but warm sweater with a beautiful drape. (For the smalles sizes 6 - 18 months use single lopi and 4, 5mm needles/US 7).
There is NO stranded knitting, only one colour per round, the zigzag is created with a chevron pattern. The ribbing at the bottom is split on the sides. Short rows make the sweater a bit longer in the back.
The plötulopi from www.thingborg.is is softer than other plötulopi and I highly recommend it. The handdyed colours by Slettuskjótt are just amazingly beautiful and fun.
This is alight weight and super comfy sweater my grnadkids donæt want to get out of. With the large needles it is a quick and fun project.
The same pattern offers some variation: description of how to change the type of increases in order to get an all over lace effect on th eyoke are part of the pattern.
