The NEPAL Hat is my new stranded-colorwork hat, designed for everyone — as enjoyable to knit as it is to wear.

It features a simple 5-row motif, perfect for easing into colorwork or savoring a quick, relaxing project.

You’ll start with 2x2 ribbing that gently brings in the colors, then the stranded stockinette reveals a subtle motif with soft, contrasting shades that highlight the design beautifully, creating a luminous effect and giving the hat plenty of personality.
The hat is worked flat so the colorwork repeat aligns perfectly for a clean, seamless look.

A simple, comforting project — ideal for treating yourself or gifting to someone special.

Sizes:
Head circumferences: 53/55 cm (56/58 cm) 59/61 cm
Total height without the brim: 32 cm

Materials:
Straight needles US 4 (3.5 mm)

Gauge (after blocking):
10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4”
26 sts x 26 rows over stockinette stitch on US 4 (3.5 mm)
26 sts x 30 rows over twisted 2x2 ribbing on US 4 (3.5 mm)

Yarn: DK weight

This sample was knitted with:
• 50 g of Rowan Felted Tweed Color, colorway 024 Chestnut
(50% wool, 25% alpaca, 25% viscose — 50 g / 175 m)
• 10 g each of Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino Joy in:
255 Honey Pie / 254 Terra / 061 Cornish Slate / 260 Old Rose

Le bonnet NEPAL, mon nouveau bonnet en jacquard, un modèle pensé pour toutes et tous, aussi agréable à tricoter qu’à porter.

Il se distingue par un joli motif très simple sur 5 rangs, parfait pour se lancer dans le jacquard en douceur ou pour savourer un projet rapide et relaxant.

On commence par des côtes 2/2 qui prennent doucement des couleurs, puis le jersey jacquard révèle un motif discret avec de belles couleurs contrastantes afin de faire ressortir le motif sans difficulté tout en douceur, créant un effet lumineux qui donne au bonnet beaucoup de personnalité.
Le bonnet est travaillé à plat, afin que le raccord du jacquard soit parfaitement aligné et net.

Un modèle simple, réconfortant, idéal pour vous faire plaisir ou pour offrir à quelqu’un de cher.
