Wearing NEPHELE is like wearing a cloud. Its lightweight, drapey fabric feels incredibly soft against the skin. The boxy shape and beautiful boatneck neckline give the sweater a timeless elegance while remaining super easy and comfortable to wear.

The combination of large sections of Stockinette stitch and easily memorizable cable details makes for an enjoyable knitting project - it’s the perfect balance of being engaged and making good progress.

NEPHELE is worked seamlessly from the top down holding two strands of yarn throughout the entire project. First you cast on the neckline and work the cable detail on the saddle shoulder. Then stitches for the front and back are picked up and both panels are worked flat and separately before joining in the round at the underarm. The body is finished off with a refined split hem and 2x2 ribbing. Finally stitches are picked up for the sleeves which are then worked top down in the round.

This pattern was professionally tech edited and test knit before the release. I was not able to find testers for the sizes 9, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 though. If you are interested in testing one of these sizes, please send me a message.

CHOOSING A SIZE
NEPHELE is intended to be worn with 30 - 45 cm / 11.75 - 17.75 “ of positive ease around the bust. This means that the garment is supposed to be 30 - 45 cm / 11.75 - 17.75 “ larger than your bust circumference.

The recommended amount of positive ease for each size is

CAN I SIZE DOWN?
You might be wondering: “If I prefer less positive ease, can I simply knit a smaller size?”

Well, it depends on how much you want to deviate from the recommended amount of positive ease. While having about 5 cm / 2 “ less positive ease might work, going for substantially less - like e.g. half the recommended amount - will result in a sweater that does not sit right around the shoulders and has a sleeve circumference that is too narrow around the upper arm.

Please make sure to check all the measurements in the schematic before choosing a size.
