The idea for this shawl came from yarn used which is all shades of dark except black and reminded me of a line in the Owl that was Afraid of the Dark.

The shawl starts from a central motif and is worked from this centre out in each direction. The idea is of a central star exploding outwards like a supernova to give a beautiful symmetrical lace scarf.

Materials
1 100g hank of Old Maiden Aunt Superwash Merino (4ply, 100% Superwash merino, 400m) in to the black.
4mm hook.
Tapestry Needle.

Tension
Central Motif measures 10cm/4in in diameter using 4mm hook or size needed to obtain tension.
