Skill-level: The sock includes elements of lace making, two small cables, and stranded colorwork.
Materials: Approx. 375-425 yards (340-390 m) of sock yarn in a main color (Color A) AND approx. 60-90 yards (55-80 m) of sock yarn in a contrasting color (Color B).
Needles: US1 (2.25mm) sock needles (pattern is written for either DPNs or Magic Loop).
~consider a larger needle for the colorwork section (see note on sizing)
Tools: Cable needle, if necessary, 1 stitch marker (for the beginning of the round), tape measure, scissors, and tapestry needle
Gauge: 32 stitches and 36 rounds per 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette) ~consider a larger gauge for the color work section (see note on sizing)
Sizing: Small (Medium, Large, Extra-large) sizes measure approximately 8(9,10,11) inches or 20.3(22.85, 25.5,28) cm in circumference. Leg height, ankle depth, and foot length are all adjustable to fit and preference.

Note on sizing: The lace portions of this sock are reasonably elastic and will fit in much the same way as a stockinette sock. The colorwork band at the top will determine the “fit” of the sock, as stranded colorwork is not as elastic as normal stockinette. If you are concerned about fit, consider going up a size for the colorwork band, and working evenly spaced decreases in the three rounds that follow it, or working with a larger needle size for the colorwork section, or both.
